Arsenal Loanee Faces Six Month International Ban

Danish Football Association (DBU) has given a six month international ban for Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner, currently playing for Juventus on loan for a drunk & driving offense.

On 2nd March, authorities caught Bendtner for drunk and drive and he is also charged for driving on the wrong side of the road in Copenhagen.

Danish Football Association (DBU) confirmed the ban on their official website,

“Based on Nicklas Bendtner’s traffic offense on Saturday night, which affected his public image in a negative way, DBU informed him that we take a clear distance from his breach of the Highway Code Section 53rd.”

“The Football Association expects that he spends the next six months on these considerations, and DBU then will be happy to take a dialogue with him about how he may in the future see himself positively contributing to the binding community around the first team.”

Bendtner also apologized for his behavior in his personal twitter, he said,

“Dear friends, I was booked for a mild case of drink driving last night. It was a quiet night but I am very very sorry to all my friends and fans. It is not OK to drink and drive. I take full responsibility.”

Bendtner is right now recovering from a serious injury that sidelined him for majority of this season.
