Arsenal Linked With A Shock Move For Demba Ba

Arsenal linked with Demba Ba

Arsenal are linked with a shock move to Newcastle’s hit man Demba Ba after their manager Alan Pardew conceded that he’s powerless to prevent the striker moving to Arsenal in the January transfer window.

As  reported on the Week, the Senegalese striker’s is not happy at Newcastle and his agent made it clear that the player is not pleased and wants a sharp response from Pardew.

“I have spoken to Demba [about his agent] and told him I was disappointed with some of the comments around him,” said Pardew. “Sometimes it’s out of his control and out of my control.”

The Daily Mail reports that Ba has left Newcastle “dismayed with his pay demands” and is allegedly demanding a big hike on his existing wages of £50,000 if he’s to remain with the Magpies next year. Asked whether Ba could move to the Emirates in January’s transfer window, Pardew admitted there was a chance:

“The situation with him is ongoing in terms of his contract, as there is that clause in there and it makes us vulnerable. That’s where we are. It’s still open in the next window.”

The Gunners who lost Van Persie to Manchester United last summer have replaced him with French striker Olivier Giroud, who has not yet opened his account after playing for about a month. At this moment there are no strong interests from Arsenal’s camp, but if the French man failed to deliver prior to the January window, things may change at the Emirates.
