Arsenal Injury Update: Good News All Around

A round up of all the latest injury updates from the Emirates: 

Arsenal received a massive injury boost this week after Lukas Podolski made his long awaited comeback following his hamstring injury during the Champions League play-off game against Fenerbahce in August. The Gunners have been playing with make shift wingers as both Podolski and Walcott were sidelined with long term injuries. And although, they managed to stay at the top of the table, Arsenal are yet to face any real threat in the league.

Their match against Dortmund and Chelsea revealed their vulnerabilities and the lack of squad depth caused Gunners both the times. With the return of Podolski, Wenger will certainly have an added advantage as he will give a direct and a much different attacking threat to the opposition. With Cazorla already back in the squad and in full fitness and Walcott soon to be back, Arsenal can afford to go into the big games with some renewed confidence.

Talking to the press after Chelsea’s defeat Wenger talked about his returning players and explained that they can have a big impact offensively

“Don’t go too quickly in the conclusions knowing that at the moment we have Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain and Podolski who are out,” Wenger said.

“It’s three players who have a big impact offensively. If you put them in I believe that it’s a completely different position in the team.”

In other news, club youngsters Benik Afobe and Dan Crowley make their return into Arsenal’s reserve team from their respective injuries.
