Arsenal Have Moved In To Finally Agree £35 Million Star Signing

Payet needs to step-up

Arsene Wenger’s side are one of the many clubs that are interested on signing Dimitri Payet and the Gunners have reportedly spoken to the France international’s representative to work out if there is any interest in remaining in the Premier League.

The West Ham ace midfielder mentioned that it would be ‘fun to play with them’ (via Daily Express)when asked about potentially joining Arsenal. And Payet has been dropped from the Hammers squad after making it clear he no longer wishes to play for the east London club.

Payet may want to return to France, but he’d make a terrific addition to the Gunners. He’s the exact type of skilled and inspirational attacker Wenger builds his teams around. The 29-year-old brings a touch of the outrageous to every match. His moments of flair enliven games and consistently unlock defences in the final third.

In his debut season at West Ham, Payet scored nine goals and registered 12 assists in 30 Premier League appearances which helped them finish sixth and in a fairly low-key season, this term, the Frenchman has found the net thrice and assisted on six occasions.

Payet’s fit at Arsenal would be an obvious one. He could operate on the same left flank on which he’s thrived for the Hammers or even in central midfield controlling and pulling the strings during a game.

However, it is unlikely that Payet would play for the Gunners as he is keen on a re-union with his former club Marsielle and West Ham have slapped a £35million price tag (Mirror) on him as they are determined to keep their best player at East London.
