Arsenal Happy To Complete Transfer Deal If Wages Issue Can Be Sorted Out

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny will be staying at Roma for another season, as Arsenal extend the deal for the player.

Szczesny was loaned to Roma after the Gunners brought in Petr Cech as their first choice goalkeeper from Chelsea. As such the Gunners are looking to extend the player’s stay at Roma by another season if the Italian club pays most of the player’s wages which is currently £45k/week.

As such Roma are happy to let the Polish player stay at the club as he helped the Serie A club finish third ahead of Inter Milan and thus qualify for the Champions League next season.

Further, with Petr Cech as the first choice keeper and David Ospina content as the back-up goalkeeper at the Emirates, Szczesny had minimum chances of breaking into the first team. While at the Italian club Szczesny is the definite starter, and thus the player will get more first team chances.
