Long time Manchester United target William Carvalho has been transfer listed by Sporting Lisbon leaving the door open for the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and United who are in the market to sign a defensive midfielder.
Express reports that, the once adamant Sporting Lisbon who rejected Arsenal’s £24m bid last month and several other bids from Manchester United are now willing to let the player for a decent sum. The defensive midfielder’s release clause is £37m, but the Premier League clubs are not willing to pay the entire amount for the 22-year old and given that Lisbon are in need of money for their up-coming season, the highest bidder should clinch the Portuguese International.
It is also said that Sporting want all the cash up-front as they are planning to re-invest it before the Summer window shuts down, which makes Arsenal as the front runners, who are ready to pay upfront.
The news broke out through Portuguese daily Record, which is a reliable source when it comes to transfer activities of the Primeira Liga clubs.
