Arsenal Dealt Major Injury Blows – Ox, Ramsey And Ozil

Share

International break has yet again showed its ugly face towards the Gunners. News about Arsenal players getting injured have been circling around for the past two days and so we thought we will give a round up of what’s happening.

The Ox, although not involved with International duties have suffered yet another set back in his rehabilitation work after suffering a knee injury on the opening day of the season.

Oxlade-Chamberlain, 20, has now been told he cannot start training again until mid-December, meaning no comeback is likely until well into 2014 (Mirror). This will potentially mean that the Winger can forget about his world cup chances with England as he may not get enough chances in the second half of the season, considering Theo Walcott would be fully fit and if at all Arsenal are still in the strong position that they are in, Wenger cannot risk it with Chamberlain.

Elsewhere Ramsey have been suffering a hamstring injury while on duty with Wales. Although his manager revealed that it was a flu that had kept the free scoring midfielder out of action, the player later tweeted that he had an issue with his hamstring and the doctors couldn’t risk him playing. Ramsey also said that he will be fit for the coming weekend.

Quoted by the Walseonline, Welsh manager Chris Coleman said:

“Aaron arrived in camp under the weather and, if anything, he deteriorated as the week went on. It wouldn’t have been right to play him.

“We missed him, of course, any team would given the form he has been displaying for club and country this season”

Ozil, who had a limited gametime against Italy last Friday, has been confirmed by German coach Joachim Low that he will be rested for Tuesday clash against England at Wembley.

Arsenal will host the high flying Southampton side when Premier League action resumes this Saturday and it will be a welcome news for Wenger to see the likes of Ozil and Ramsey getting a well deserved rest before the crucial festival period starts.
