Arsenal Blog: Who Should Partner Alexis Sanchez Next season? Homegrown Or An Import?

The Premier League season might be coming to a close, but that does not mean it is a time to relax for the clubs. Almost each club will be looking to the summer transfer window and trying to close deals and get players who would push the club into the next level of performance. Players will come and go but certain players will be brought in to complement a star at the club, something like Cesc Fabregas coming in to help out Eden Hazard or Angel Di Maria to help out Rooney, it may not always work but that is a risk that you need to take when it comes to signing players.

Arsenal are one such club which would be buying in the summer and if it is anything like their previous summer transfer windows, it will be huge for the Gunners. Arsenal have spent a lot of money in purchasing Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil over successive summer transfer windows and could be on their way to sign some player who could complement the star for this season, Alexis Sanchez.

A ton of options but whom to sign?

The options available to Arsene when it comes to making a signing include some really big names, Marco Reus could be on his way out from Dortmund, a big money bid could work in getting the talented German across to the Premier League. They could also go to another star winger in Pedro who has seen his time on the field limited thanks to the form of Luis Suarez or they could go the English way and sign free agent James Milner.

In all honesty, there really is no option to choose from the three apart from Marco Reus, the German is the best player out of the lot, he is the fastest of the lot and does a lot of attacking and defensive tracking when it is needed, the only issues about Reus would be his huge price tag and his recent injury record, which hasn’t been great. The other option which could work for Arsenal is getting James Milner, he can play as a winger and is known for his amazing work rate and defensive work but he can put a mean cross in as well and could provide a stark contrast to the style that Sanchez plays and that could prove beneficial for Arsenal.

Walcott

Another option that people might not be talking about is the fact that Raheem Sterling could be joining the Gunners however they should steer clear of Sterling for the time being since he has lost his way at Liverpool and his performances in the last 3 months haven’t been all that great. They should instead be thinking of using another speedy horse in their stallion, Theo Walcott.

Walcott might still need some time to get back to the form he showed last season before his injury and unless Arsenal sign Reus, it should be Walcott who should partner Sanchez on the wings. Walcott has the pace, knowledge and goal scoring prowess to play in the role and well, he was playing in that position before the injury and he should continue up there as well next season.
