According to German sources, Arsenal are still interested in signing Freiburg’s young defensive midfielder Matthias Ginter.
Matthias Ginter is a technically gifted versatile central/defensive midfielder who can play in defense too. He is physically strong and known for his good hard tackles. He has the potential to be a future star for Arsenal. But a buy and loan back to Germany for another year would be best for his development considering the number of midfielders Arsenal have right now.
Ginter’s contract expires only in 2015, so Arsenal needs to bid minimum of £8 Million to tempt Freiburg to sell Ginter.
But SC Freiburg chief Jochen Saier clearly said that he is not for sale.
He said,
“This is pure rubbish! We have not received any inquiries (from Arsenal) and we are not thinking about anything that has to do with this.
“Matthias Ginter is a very important part of Freiburg,”
