According to various reports, Arsenal are now in advanced stage of negotiations with Fiorentina to sign their versatile striker Stevan Jovetic.
Arsenal have already made an initial £19.5m bid for their top Summer target. Even though the negotiations are going well, there is still a £5.5m gap between demand and offer.
Jovetic has a buy-out clause in his contract worth £25m.
Arsenal could be favoured by the fact Fiorentina would prefer to sell Jovetic abroad rather than to their arch rivals Juventus. Manchester City are another English club wants to sign Jovetic.
In a recent interview when questioned about the premier league interest, Jovetic said,
“It feels good because the English game currently has probably the strongest league in the world.”
“I’m very comfortable in Italy but the Premier League is at the top of the football world – and perhaps the best.”
