Armstrong In, McGregor Out: Strongest 4-2-3-1 Celtic Line-Up To Face Hearts

Celtic

Predicted Celtic Lineup To Face Hearts

Celtic will take on Hearts at the Parkhead in the final game of the Scottish Premiership season on Sunday afternoon.

The Bhoys come into the game on the back of a 5-0 triumph over Partick Thistle and will want to continue in the same vein of form as they hope to finish the season unbeaten in the domestic competitions. And with the Scottish Cup final against Aberdeen coming up next week, Celtic will not want to lose momentum.

Team News

Moussa Dembele is the only absentee for Celtic, as he continues to recover from thigh problems.

Probable Celtic Starting XI

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Brendan Rodgers

Craig Gordon (GK)

The 34-year old will start on goal on Sunday afternoon and will be hoping to add another clean sheet to his tally.

Anthony Ralston (RB)

With the cup final in mind, Rodgers may decide to give the young Anthony Ralston his second start of the Premiership ahead of Mikael Lustig.

Erik Sviatchenko (CB)

The Danish international started the game against Partick in the midweek and may keep his place in the playing XI ahead of Jozo Simunovic.

Dedryck Boyata (CB)

The former Manchester City man has been excellent in recent weeks. Should partner Sviatchenko at the heart of the defence.

Emilio Izaguirre (LB)

Again with the cup final in view, the manager might want to save Kieran Tierney and may decide to stick with Izaguirre at left-back just like on Thursday night.

Scott Brown (CM)

The captain returned to the starting XI after his suspension on Thursday. Expect him to start again on Sunday.

Stuart Armstrong (CM)

Was rested for Thursday night, but Rodgers may decide to bring him in, and afford some time off for Callum McGregor.

Patrick Roberts (RW)

Has scored 5 in the last 5 league games. Will be his last appearance at the Celtic Park as his loan spell nears an end. Will want to sign off with a good display.

Tom Rogic (CAM)

The Australian has hit the ground running since his return from injury. Scored a goal against Thistle on Thursday and will start in the No.10 role on Sunday.

Scott Sinclair (LW)

The leading goalscorer of the competition has an excellent record against Hearts having scored 6 in just 3 appearances. May get a run out for an hour or so after being benched on Thursday night.

Leigh Griffiths (ST)

Scored against Thistle and has not let Dembele’s absence affect the team. Will spearhead the attack on Sunday against the Hearts.
