Are Newcastle United And Stoke The Clubs To Keep An Eye Out For This Season?

Three teams to watch-out in the Premier League this season!

Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United might be the favourites for the Premier League crown but there are 17 other clubs who should provide a lot of fun, excitement and drama in another Premier League season.

While fans would be hoping their clubs do well in the league, it always is fun to watch some other club punch above their weight or do something spectacular in the season. We have seen some clubs really have a go, remember Hull City doing well under Phil Brown or the fairy-tale escapes that Wigan had under Roberto Martinez? Yup, the league is a lot more than just about seeing who comes first, everyone likes a feel good story and we look at 3 clubs who could have a surprise stored in them this season.

Newcastle United

Wijnaldum
Wijnaldum

New manager? Check, New players? Check and well with the backing of the vociferous Newcastle faithful, you never know what the Magpies can achieve this season. Last season was a disaster and it took the last game of the season to ensure Newcastle stayed in the league. Steve McClaren has his job cut out but a few shrewd signings especially that of Wijnaldum could provide the catalyst for a Newcastle revival in the league. Don’t expect them to fight for a top four finish but European qualification could be on the agenda but then again its Newcastle and watching them implode could happen as well, it is that kind of life under Mike Ashley for Newcastle supporters.

Stoke City

Afellay

Barcelona in England? Well Stoke City seem to be a Barcelona D team. After signing Muniesa and Bojan last season, they seem to have signed another former Barca player in Afellay, the Dutch winger from whom a lot was expected. Even without Affelay, the team have progressed well under Mark Hughes. The team does play a better brand of football than under Tony Pulis and finished 9th last season. They should build on this performance and with a couple more signings, who knows where the club could be headed this season.

Leicester City

claudio Ranieri

It is time for Claudio Ranieri to return to the Premier League, for Chelsea fans, well at least those before Roman came along with his billions, it will be a nice reunion to see their former manager leading a shade of blue. Leicester were one of the surprise packages from last season as they somehow stayed up. Although they might have lost Esteban Cambiasso but they have made a couple of really interesting signings in Fuchs, Huth and Okazaki, all have some sort of connection to Germany and with an Italian manager coming back to England, no one knows just what can happen at the club this season.
