Angelo Henriquez Golazo For Manchester United – Positives From A Below-Par Game?

Angelo Henriquez, the 19-year old  Chilean forward scored a 68th minute goal to rescue a 1-1 draw for Manchester United in a lively pre-season friendly against Swedish side AIK in Stockholm on Tuesday night.

Whilst all the talks have been centered around the impact that Zaha has made with his breath taking performances in the pre-season games, Henriquez is not quite far behind the winger. Since joining United last season, the forward has had minimal opportunities, but this is the season where he can make a name to himself. The Chilean had an impressive U-20 World Cup before joining the United pre-season tour and scored a crucial goal to help save his team from an embarrassment.

And if sources are to be believed, David Moyes is prepared to provide the opportunity for Angelo Henriquz to play in the first team at Manchester United this season.

“He was ready when he returned from the tour, and I thought he had done their job well, “said Moyes, Wednesday (7/8). “Now we will get the chance to work with him,” said Moyes

Talking after the game, Henriquez was more than excited to score his first goal for the Premier League champions and claims that he wants to go places with the Red Devils as he hopes for improvement the coming season.

Quoted United’s official website, Henriquez said:

“To be involved in my first game with the first team and score was a great moment for me,” he told us. It’s been fantastic to train with the squad and also spend time with the players. I am learning a lot.”

And talking about United’s community shield game against Wigan this Sunday, where he played as a loanee last year, Henriquez expressed his eagerness to play against his old team

“My time at Wigan helped me a lot. It was a great experience to be in a squad and playing in big matches in the Premier League and FA Cup. The biggest thing I learnt is that the Premier League is one of the best and most important leagues in the world, and you have to be at your very best in every game.”

“Wigan hold a special place in my heart and it will be a special game for me. I am looking forward to the match and hopefully we can get the result we want. It’s important for us to win the trophy,” he told the club’s official website.
