It has been a while since German international Mario Gotze is linked with a potential move to the Merseyside. The 23-year old’s contract with Bayern Munich is nearly expiring as he will be in his final year of the contract with Munich in the summer.
Liverpool is interested in the player and is planning to make a move for a potential transfer, according to Sky Sports. Gotze has earlier worked with the Reds manager Jurgen Klopp during their time in Borussia Dortmund and are said to have a good working relationship with one another.
Reports further suggest that the player is not happy at Munich, as he has not been able to hold a first team place for himself under Pep Guardiola, and hence is looking for a way out of the Allianz Arena. Although Guardiola is heading to Manchester City, we will have to wait and watch if the German player is in Carlo Ancelotti’s plans for Bayern Munich, once the manager arrives at the Allianz Arena.
