Allardyce To Make 1 Big Change – Predicted 4-1-3-2 Everton Line-up To Face Newcastle United

Predicted Everton Line-up To Face Newcastle United In The Premier League

Wayne Rooney’s first ever goal in a Merseyside Derby gave the Toffees a superb result on their short trip to face Liverpool in the derby this weekend. They were completely dominated in the game but managed to come out of it with a point and will be high on confidence, going into their next game, against Newcastle United.

The St. James’ Park has never been an easy place to take results from but the Magpies are currently struggling at 16th place in the points table and are healing from an unfortunate loss at home to Leicester City in the previous round. Both teams will believe that they can take all three points and this is surely going to be a crackling fixture.

Team News

In early team news, Allardyce has no new injury issues to worry about after the fierce derby. He will, however, be without the likes of Leighton Baines, Maarten Stekelenburg, Ross Barkley, Seamus Coleman, Yannick Bolasie and Funes Mori, all of whom are long-term absentees.

Formation: 4-1-3-2

Manager: Sam Allardyce

GK – Jordan Pickford

The English international had a decent night at Anfield and is the undisputed No.1 for Allardyce. Should start this game as well.

RB – Jonjoe Kenny

The youngster did extremely well to hold off the likes of Mane and will hope to have a similar game against Newcastle.

CB – Mason Holgate

Though Keane is still waiting on the bench, Holgate has made this position his own with some solid performances and the manager is expected to stick with him for another game.

Cuco Martina

CB – Ashley Williams

The experienced Williams adds balance to the backline for Everton but will have his work cut out against the likes of Perez and Joselu.

LB – Cuco Martina

With Baines out injured, Martina, who needs to find more consistency, should keep his place at left-back.

CDM – Idrissa Gueye

Arguably Everton’s most consistent player in the midfield this season, Gueye will start as the deepest of the midfielders for his side.

RM – Aaron Lennon

Allardyce has preferred the English winger to inject some pace to the attack.  Lennon could be pushed back into the starting XI, after being dropped against Liverpool.

CAM – Wayne Rooney

Scored his first ever Merseyside Derby goal at the weekend and will be high on confidence, going into this game against the Magpies.

Oumar Niasse

LM – Gylfi Sigurdsson

Though he is not at his best this season, Sigurdsson remains an important part of the Everton squad and should retain his place on the left flank.

ST – Oumar Niasse

The second top goalscorer for Everton this season, Niasse had a nightmare at Anfield but his presence adds a different dimension to the Everton attack and the manager should stick with him for another game.

ST – Dominic-Calvert Lewin

The youngster won the all-important penalty in the derby, albeit with controversy. He will hope to have a similar impact on this fixture as well.

Here is how they might line up:
