Alexis Sanchez to return – Predicted 4-3-3 Manchester United XI to face Valencia in the Champions League

Predicted Manchester United line-up to face Valencia in the UCL

Manchester United welcome Valencia to Old Trafford in their second group stage game of the Champions League on Tuesday.

The Red Devils are seeking another victory in the Champions League after defeating Young Boys 3-0, while Valencia will be desperate to bounce back following their defeat at the hands of Juventus.

Jose Mourinho is under immense pressure at the moment, as West Ham piled further misery on United by beating them 3-1 on Saturday. The Portuguese manager will be hoping his team puts in an improved show to get the job done against Valencia at Old Trafford.

Team News

Phil Jones is available but Marcos Rojo will miss the game due to an injury.

Probable Manchester United XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Jose Mourinho

David De Gea (GK)

The best in the business, De Gea is a definite starter in goal against Valencia on Tuesday.

Victor Lindelof

Antonio Valencia (RB)

Valencia could be recalled to the starting XI after Mourinho dropped him from the squad against West Ham.

Chris Smalling (CB)

Of late, Smalling has been consistent for the Red Devils. He has to be at the top of his game to keep the Valencia attackers at bay.

Victor Lindelof (CB)

Lindelof continues to blow hot and cold and it’s surprising to see he hasn’t found his feet in England. However, he should continue partnering Smalling in central defence.

Luke Shaw (LB)

United’s best player so far this season, Shaw is playing confidently at the moment and is proving his detractors wrong. He has made the left-back position his own this term.

Marouane Fellaini (CDM)

Fellaini has done his job of protecting the back-four with aplomb this season. He is an undoubted starter for the Champions League clash against Valencia.

Paul Pogba (RCM)

Starting at the right of the midfield three, Pogba will be looking to control the flow of the game. He will be looking to make early inroads against the Spanish outfit to help his side to three points on Tuesday.

Fred (LCM)

Fred is a feisty character who is quick, has the vision and is creative on the ball. He will be looking to carve open the Valencia defence with his passing and smart movement.

Marcus Rashford (RW)

Rashford scored in the defeat at West Ham after coming on as a substitute. He made a good impact on the game, which should be enough to earn him a spot in the starting XI on Tuesday.

Alexis Sanchez

Alexis Sanchez (LW)

Sanchez was dropped against West Ham but could be recalled to give United a different dimension in the attack. The Chilean will be desperate to get back his mojo.

Romelu Lukaku (ST)

Lukaku has had a couple of poor games for United recently. He will be eager to get on the scoresheet and help the Red Devils to another win in the Champions League.
