Samuel Eto has rekindled the rift between his Cameroonian team mate Alex song claiming he is not even in the list of Cameron’s top players. The Anzhi Makhachkala’s striker has always had a jibe with the ex – Arsenal midfielder ever since Song refused to shake hands with him in the African cup of nations qualifier against Senegal last year for which Song has been fined £1,200.Samuel Eto hits out on Barcelona midfielder
And the striker has publicly announced his rift with Song when he admitted that their rivalry is still as fierce as ever and laid down the gauntlet to Song in an interview with canal+
“We are not involved in a conflict between two star players, Eto’o told Canal Plus. I am among the best players in the world and Song is not even among the best players in Cameroon.”
The players appeared to have made peace before the African Cup of Nations qualifier against Cape Verde but Eto’o is adamant there has been no major reconciliation. And further the reports which suggested that Song tried to steal the captain’s arm band when Eto was exiled for eight months after sparking a player’s strike over wage demands had raised the tension between both the parties.
