After years of loan spells, Liverpool offloading this 22-year-old talented midfield ace is the best option for all parties involved – agreed?

Why Liverpool should offload Marko Grujic either on loan or permanently

According to the Sun, Liverpool are interested in the possible sale of Serbian youngster Marko Grujic. The 22-year-old made the move to Merseyside from Red Star Belgrade in 2016 but was immediately sent back on loan to the club.

Grujic then arrived in the Premier League but barely featured for the Reds under Jurgen Klopp. The German was pleased with his level of performance and wants to keep hold of him but Grujic has been out on loan for the last 3 years of his Liverpool contract now. (Sun)

He spent time with Cardiff City last season before moving to Bundesliga outfit Hertha Berlin this year. But according to the report, the youngster is now willing to seal a permanent move and does not want another year on loan. Liverpool are willing to sell if clubs are ready to meet their £4.5million valuation of the Serbian midfielder.

At this point, it’s clear that Jurgen Klopp has a well-stocked midfield department and it would be difficult for the youngster to break into it. He has shown glimpses of his quality but that just hasn’t been enough to earn a spot in the squad.

Grujic made just 6 appearances in the league last season, out of which 3 came off the bench. He has played just 51 minutes in the Premier League so far. It would be best for the Reds to offload him.

The 22-year-old central midfielder was very influential for the Bluebirds last season in their rise to promotion. He would surely fit in at any mid-table Premier League side this season.

The Reds’ midfield woes are of a different issue. Most of their midfielders are defensive-minded players, which has seen a lack of creative edge from their side. Grujic is also considered to be a similar player and Klopp has way too many of those at the moment.

The Merseyside club are in need of an attacking midfielder and that is what Klopp should prioritise when the transfer window reopens in January. The manager can raise some funds by offloading Marko Grujic.

Liverpool have already spent big this year and it would not be so easy to splash the cash once again. Nevertheless, they must get rid of Grujic as it would benefit both parties.
