After a Dull Transfer Window, More Bad News in store for Arsenal Fans as Star Striker Ruled Out for Months

After a dull transfer window, Arsenal have got their first major shock after their striker Danny Welbeck is set to be out for months after failing to respond to the surgery on his left knee, which he underwent earlier this year.

Welbeck failed to respond well to the rehabilitation work when his workload was increased. Now Arsenal would be without a proper back-up for their main striker Olivier Giroud and manager Arsene Wenger saw through the transfer window without signing a striker.

A statement in Arsenal.com said Danny Welbeck has undergone surgery on his left knee after being unable to sufficiently step up his rehabilitation work. The striker has been working throughout the summer to recover from the injury sustained at the end of April. It had been hoped he would avoid surgery but after increasing his training workload, the injury to his cartilage did not respond as well as hoped and the decision was taken last week for him to undergo surgery by a leading specialist in the field. Danny is now expected to be out for a period of months and everyone at Arsenal wishes him well.
