Adkins to ring the changes – Predicted 3-4-1-2 Hull City XI to face Derby County

Predicted Hull City line-up to face Derby County in the EFL Cup

Hull City will look to get over their loss at the weekend by putting in a better performance versus Derby County in the League Cup tie at the KCOM Stadium. These two teams will face each other on Saturday as well.

Manager Nigel Adkins would make the changes to the line-up after the defeat against Stoke City. Evandro was sent off in that game but as per the new rules, he will be available for selection as league suspensions are not carried into cup games.

Team News

George Long, Kevin Stewart, Jackson Irvine and Will Keane are among the few who are expected to take the field on Tuesday. Jon Toral was only fit enough to be on the bench on Saturday, but he might also start this tie. Manuel Milinkovic is doubtful to make it to the matchday squad.

Probable Hull City XI

Manager: Nigel Adkins

Formation: 3-4-1-2

George Long (GK)

David Marshall is expected to be off for this game, so we might see George Long go about his business.

Angus MacDonald (RCB)

In the previous round, Adkins played the back-three system. Expect him to do the same this time as well. Hence, MacDonald may get a chance at the back.

Jordy de Wijs

Jordy de Wijs (CB)

Wasn’t very impressive in the previous game and must improve if the Tigers are to be more solid defensively.

Reece Burke (LCB)

The youngster has had a mixed start to this season and he will be hoping to get better by playing more games.

Stephen Kingsley (LWB)

Just like Burke, Kingsley has blown hot and cold during this season. Adkins would like more consistency from his left-sided defender.

Todd Kane (RWB)

He might be given a go at the right wing-back position with the license to move forward at every given opportunity.

Jackson Irvine (CM)

Dan Batty would more or less be rested for this game, so Irvine might get a start and the player would be hoping to impress the manager.

Kevin Stewart

Kevin Stewart (CM)

The former Liverpool man hasn’t yet cemented his place in the midfield. He should perform on Tuesday to get on the manager’s radar.

Jon Toral (CAM)

Was fit enough to start the previous game from the bench, however, he is expected to be ready for action this midweek.

Will Keane (ST)

With Evandro more or less to be sidelined for this game despite being available, we might see Will Keane in action for Hull City.

Nouha Dicko (ST)

Campbell hasn’t got much support from his teammates so far, and so he has cut a frustrated figure at times. Adkins might change him up with Dicko for this game.
