AC Milan Unveiled Bartosz Salamon Today

AC Milan signed Bartosz Salamon, a 21-year old Polish defender from Serie B side Brescia at the very end of the deadline day this January. At nearly 2 meters in height, the giant Polish defender can play as a defensive midfielder as well, and has good feet and a terrifying aerial presence. The curiosity surrounding Bartosz Salamon was overwhelming as he was finally unveiled in a press conference held earlier today.

In his first interview with Milan, he said he worships Alessandro Nesta but doesn’t want to be compared to him just yet.

The official presentation of Milan’s new signing, Bartosz Salamon:

“Unfortunately I’ve had some problems with my ankle, but I’m training twice a day to recover as soon as possible, and I hope to be available for selection by next week.
I’m happy at Milanello – the enviroment here is fantastic and I hope to do well. Everyone here is helping me. I haven’t spoken to Allegri yet about my position, but I will do that when I get back to training with the squad.”

“I have always been a midfielder. I’ve never had any idols in football. I always watched the best midfielders in order to learn from them, but now I watch the best defenders.
When I was at Foggia I was playing as a regista, but in the last two years I’ve improved defensively and thus turned into a central defender.”

“The next few months at Milanello will be essential for me. Now that I’m here, I’ll be able to learn about my weak points as well and improve. I have to improve my speed most of all. I always did well in Serie B. I never had any problems with the fast players in Serie B, but it’s different in Serie A. We’ll see how it goes.”

The transfer to Milan? I was calm about everything. I went to training on January 31st and after training when I was in the shower, they told me to hurry up as I had to go to Milan’s headquarters to sign the contract. It was a great day.”

My personal objectives? I just want to get back to training at the moment. Then I’ll try and make the most of the opportunities given to me by the coach.”

“Alessandro Nesta is an inspiration and I always liked him a lot, but don’t start comparing me to him. I chose number 14 as that’s the number I wore for Brescia.”

“I hope to be here at Milan for a long time and be a part of this new cycle and project. I’m happy that the club thought of me.”

My future dreams? I’m here now and I’m happy about that. I have a dream and bit by bit, it’s coming true. Right now, my dream is to make my debut for Milan.”

“I played in the youth team at Lech Poznan and then during a game, two scouts from Brescia saw me and brought me to Italy.”

“My agent, Mino Raiola, said that moving to Milan was the chance of a lifetime and that I had to take it. I’m playing for the club of my dreams and I can’t waste this opportunity.

Three years ago, I went to see Milan-Napoli and I thought that it would be fantastic to play here. My dream now is to make my debut for Milan”, declared Salamon.

It will be interesting to see how Milan uses Salamon for the remainder of the season.
