A New £85m Budget For Chelsea ?

As the transfer window looms close by, there are transfer rumours in every nook and corner around the web. This is the cut short version of the deals that CFC are trying to pull together.

Chelsea have been linked with a January window transfer swoop worth £85m and the likes of Falcao, Villa, Walcott are been talked about. So let’s see the possibilities of the transfer stories. First of all, the figures have got to be a bit wrong here,  the two following transfers would never add up to £85m.

when will El Tigre make the switch to EPL ?

Radamel Falcao is obviously the first one, and according to Daily Express and various other sources, Chelsea are willing to go as high as £50m to land the Colombian’s signature in January. But the point is when will Chelsea land their man ? From all the news around Atletico Madrid, it is clear that the Spanish club stand their ground on the striker as they want him at-least till the end of the season. It is inevitable that Falcao will join Chelsea but not this January. Having said that, Chelsea are also on the look out for another striker in January, but Fernando Torres’ll remain the preferred option for the rest of the season.

The other player is one the Blues have been linked with for sometime now. Willian of Shakhtar Donetsk, who faced them in the Champions League and who pretty much sent Chelsea out of the competition as well. The Brazilian is a quality player, no doubt, but with Oscar, Mata, Hazard, Piazon and Moses available to us already, do Chelsea really need him?

Talking about his fututre, Willian said:

“I wanted to pack my things and go, but I can’t do that as I am under  contract. It shows how much Shakhtar like me and shows that I am doing a good  job, which is why they wanted me to stay.

“I have tried to convince them many times to let me go. I know that Juventus  and Chelsea have made offers to buy me and that motivates me a lot.

“The club know that I want to leave, everyone knows that. The president has  told me that he’ll let me go for €30million and my intention is to sign for a  big club.”

Taison is also a player that has been heavily linked with – again, a fine player, but it is perhaps one too many at this time.

Rafael Benitez has stated that Fernando Torres needs help up front, and that the question is “which striker are the Blues after in January?” rather than “are they going to get a striker in January?” It sure does sound an exciting transfer window ahead for the Stamford bridge faithful.
