Rangers keep unbeaten run going with a five-star performance to beat Hamilton 5-0 away at SuperSeal stadium. There were five different scorers for the Gers, who were simply too good for their opponents on the day.
Ryan Jack opened the scoring spree in the 16th minute with a fantastic shot from 25 yards out, leaving the Hamilton keeper with no chance. The midfielder created a chance before that rasping hit for Jermaine Defoe, but the striker couldn’t finish it.
However, the former Sunderland man scored a minute later with a pinpoint header into the back of the net. James Tavernier delivered a good deep cross for the attacker to score.
Scott Arfield added himself on the scoresheet in the 24th minute with a driving shot from a far way out. And captain Tavernier made it four before half-time from the penalty spot, when Ryan Kent was fouled inside the box by Ziggy Gordon.
Kyle Lafferty finished the job in the 88th minute with a nice finish following a good ball from Daniel Candeias. Hamilton had a couple of chances, but Rangers dominated that game from start to finish.
They are still eight points behind Celtic at the top, but the Gers are doing their job of winning games and putting some doubt into the Hoops’ minds.
