Predicted Sheffield Wednesday lineup to face Brentford in the Championship
Sheffield Wednesday haven’t had a start they would have wanted or dreamt of. After losing to Wigan Athletic in the opening game, the Owls managed to sneak out a draw against Hull City. So they will be looking to put things right in the league by beating Brentford.
However, this game is not at all easy for Jos Luhukay’s men as their Sunday opponents have begun their season in fine fashion. Hence, the manager would know that he has to get his team playing in the right way in order to have chance of getting a win away at Griffin Park.
Team News
Luhukay doesn’t have any injury set-backs after his team’s League Cup win over Sunderland on Thursday night. He could hand Atdhe Nuhiu a starting spot after the striker was suspended for the last game.
Gary Hooper is close to returning to full fitness but may not be risked on Sunday. Kieran Lee and Almen Abdi, who are long-term absentees, have no chance of action any time soon.
Probable Sheffield Wednesday XI
Manager: Jos Luhukay
Formation: 3-5-2
Cameron Dawson (GK)
Joe Wildsmith was given a chance to impress the manager in the League Cup tie, however, Dawson is expected to be back between the sticks.
Tom Lees (RCB)
Lees was at the centre of the back-three against Sunderland but will probably be back to his usual position this weekend.
Sam Hutchinson (CB)
Hutchinson didn’t start the game on Thursday but expect him to be back for Sunday’s clash against a high-flying Brentford. He needs to up his game as their opponents have some good attacking players.
Daniel Pudil (LCB)
The experienced defender will add stability to the backline and continue to support the other two.
Morgan Fox (LWB)
Fox did not start the League Cup game and expect him to be back at left wing-back for the Owls.
Joey Pelupessy (LCM)
The 25-year-old was rested for the midweek game and he needs to up his game a bit to get regular game time.
Barry Bannan (CDM)
Bannan started as a part of a midfield-two against Sunderland. Should start here as the deepest of the three-man midfield.
Adam Reach (RCM)
Reach played as a left-winger in the last game, but with Luhukay expected to change his formation back to 3-5-2, the 25-year-old may find himself in this position.
Ashley Baker (RWB)
Baker, who was rested against Sunderland, should be back at right wing-back.
Atdhe Nuhiu (ST)
The striker recieved a red card in the opening fixture, which allowed Steven Fletcher to start the subsequent games. However, the manager might give Nuhiu another chance, knowing that Fletcher started on Thursday.

Fernando Forestieri (ST)
The striker was given an off on Thursday, so he is expected to be back this Sunday.
