Manchester United vs Arsenal prediction: Combined XI

Two giants of English football will meet up on Monday night. Arsenal are coming off the back of two wins in the Premier League and League Cup and the Red Devils have had a poor week, losing to West Ham. They did win on penalties against Rochdale.

Arsenal would be content with a draw but the Red Devils need the 3 points at home. The two sides put the Premier League on the world stage and this could be another glorious page in this famous rivalry.

Here are the players who make the combined XIs for both sides.

Combined XI

David De Gea – Goalkeeper (Manchester United)

The Spaniard gets the nod as he’s still one of the few goalkeepers in the world who can win a game on his own.

Aaron wan-Bissaka – Right back (Manchester United)

Hector Bellerin looks like he’s back to full-fitness but wan-Bissaka gets the nod for the time being as he’s the outstanding defensive full-back in the league.

Rob Holding – Centre-back (Arsenal)

Rob Holding

He’s Arsenal’s best centre-back and his recovery might’ve come just in time for him to be available for the big game.

Harry Maguire – Centre-back (Manchester United)

He’s done well since coming in but it’s those in front of him needed improvement. He’ll be the one commanding the backline.

Sead Kolasinac – Left-back (Arsenal)

With Luke Shaw and Kieran Tierney unlikely to start this game, Kolasinac is the best option available.

Matteo Guendouzi – Central midfield (Arsenal)

Matteo Guendouzi

The youngster has carried the midfield in the last two home games and will have to do it all over again on Monday night.

Dani Ceballos – Central midfield (Arsenal)

He’s become a fan-favourite already. The Spaniard will be the deep lying-playmaker for this combined XI.

Paul Pogba – Central midfield (Manchester United)

He’s inconsistent at times but he’s got bags of quality and can turn a game on its head with a moment of individual brilliance.

Daniel James – Left-wing (Manchester United)

The Welsh winger has made a fantastic start to his career at United and would cause most full-backs problems with his pace.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – Centre-forward (Arsenal)

There’s only one man who can the central spot. The Gabonese striker is in red-hot form and that United backline will have to be careful.

Nicolas Pepe – Right-wing (Arsenal)

He hasn’t made the best of starts but he was off the mark with a penalty against Villa and will be hoping that he can live upto the reputation.
