Predicted Chelsea line-up to face Bournemouth in the League Cup

Chelsea will be looking to reach the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup when they face Bournemouth in the quarter-finals. After beating Manchester City in the league last week, Maurizio Sarri’s backed that up with a 2-1 win away at Brighton on Sunday. Now they have a home tie against the Cherries to reach the last four.

Eddie Howe’s men have been in poor form recently and it will be tough for them away at Stamford Bridge. But we cannot predict anything when it comes to knockout ties in cup competitions, hence, it won’t be easy for the Blues.

Team News

Eden Hazard picked up a knock against Brighton but he is expected to be fit. Alvaro Morata is out injured and still doesn’t have a return date.

Probable Chelsea XI

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Maurizio Sarri

Kepa (GK)

The Spaniard should start this game as Chelsea look to reach the last four stage of the League Cup.

Davide Zappacosta

Davide Zappacosta (RB)

The Italian has started the cup games this season and should be given another chance to do so on Wednesday.

Andreas Christensen (CB)

The Dane isn’t getting into the team for the league games, but he should get the cup games to shine.

Gary Cahill (CB)

The veteran could be given the nod one more time. He has partnered Christensen in cup games this season.

Emerson (LB)

Another player who has plied his trade in the cup games this season. Expect him to start.

Cesc Fabregas

Cesc Fabregas (CDM)

With Jorginho expected to get a rest, we may see Fabregas as a holding midfielder on Wednesday.

Ross Barkley (RCM)

The Englishman came off the bench against Brighton and should be fresh to start this midweek.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek (LCM)

The youngster has impressed in the cup games he has featured in. He is expected to start with a hope to impress the manager one more time.

Willian

Willian (LW)

The Brazilian played on the left wing on Sunday and should continue to hold the width, especially because Olivier Giroud might lead the line. Hence, crosses from the wide areas will be key.

Olivier Giroud (ST)

Hazard will be fit for this game but may start on the bench. We could see Giroud start as a number nine and causing trouble to the Cherries defenders.

Pedro (RW)

The Spaniard has played a few games and done well. He scored the last game and looked high on confidence again. Expect him to start.
