Bournemouth started the match in furious fashion, closing down Tottenham at every opportunity, and were unlucky not to go in at half-time in front. However they couldn’t keep this tempo up and it was Tottenham’s turn to dominate the game in the second half, although they couldn’t create any openings against the stubborn Bournemouth defence. A draw was a fair result.
Hugo Lloris 6
Quiet day for the Spurs keeper. Kept the scores level early on when a great reflex save with his legs deflected the ball onto the crossbar. Not much to do other than that.
Danny Rose 6
A few mistakes for Rose, who was a doubt after taking a knock during the week. Worked hard as always, but not the kind of rampaging performance we are used to.
Jan Vertonghen 6
Solid. Again not much to do as Tottenham built pressure as the match went on. But produced a great saving tackle when Bournemouth threatened the Tottenham goal late on.
Eric Dier 6
Quiet game for him too. Looked comfortable in possession and marshaled the Tottenham back line well.
Kyle Walker 7
One of Tottenham’s better performers. The rest in midweek looked to work, as he produced a high energy display. Did well defensively and also got forward well to deliver some dangerous balls into the box.
Victor Wanyama 7
Quickly becoming an important part of the Spurs midfield. It was thought that he would be a backup to Eric Dier when he signed, but the tough midfielder is giving Tottenham a stability that has meant they are yet to concede a goal in open play so far this season.
Moussa Dembele 7
Tottenham fans will be delighted to have him back, and he looked like he was slowly getting back to his best. Bypassed players with ease, and passed the ball well.
Erik Lamela 6
Unfortunately, hard work isn’t really good enough any more for Lamela. Today showed the best and worst of him. He was unlucky not to score with a 30-yard shot that hit the post, but his general play was mixed with him losing possession a lot.
Christian Eriksen 6
Neat and tidy, but quite ineffective. With Harry Kane missing Tottenham really needed the likes of Eriksen to produce something. And apart from a few blocked shots, he didn’t do enough.
Dele Alli 7
The best Tottenham attacker today, and the one who looked like he might produce a piece of magic. Unfortunately for Spurs, it wasn’t to be and he was subbed in the 72nd minute.
Heung-Min Son 6
Looked isolated up front on his own. Probably better playing on the left for Tottenham where his best performances and goals have come from.

He came on in the 62nd minute for Son, and really looked out of sorts.
Moussa Sissoko 4
Sissoko was brought on to make things happen, and the only thing that he made happen was to send Harry Arter to the floor with an elbow. He was very, very lucky not to get his marching orders.
