Zlatan Ibrahimovic will be out of contract next month from Paris Saint Germain and as such the Swedish Captain has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United, where incoming manager Jose Mourinho wants to sign him on a free transfer.
While all the speculations are running wild regarding the 34 year old’s potential destination, he managed to drop a bomb on United fans. While speaking before Sweden’s friendly match against Slovenia, the player stated that he wants to play for his old club Malmo.
“I love Malmo and I wish I could play today. I apologise for that, but I will, I will. Just wait for me.”- Ibrahimovic
“We have not decided anything yet. I think it will be a surprise in the end. Everyone is harping on about only United, United, United.
“There are some clubs in England, a few clubs in Europe, clubs outside Europe, but everyone assumes that he must go to Manchester United, but it is not true.
“It’s not important to arrange something quickly, I care only about arranging something with quality.”
Further reports elsewhere suggest that Tottenham too are looking out to sign the player and are considering offering him a two year deal.
While there have been many link ups and some serious speculations and rumors, the Swede’s destination post the summer transfers is still unknown.
