Louis van Gaal’s side hosted West Brom at Old Trafford, as they looked to secure all three points after a win in mid-week in the Champions League. Manchester United had not been in the best goal-scoring form in recent weeks and the Dutchman was hopeful that they could change that on the night. The Red Devils secured a 2-0 win, with second half goals from Lingard and Mata, who finished off a spot kick to secure all three points for the home side.
The fans would have surely been delighted by their side’s performance, as their team finally managed to score twice in the span of 45 minutes and looked the far more aggressive side.
The Baggies did not really dominate the game and it was all United right through, though a few mistakes from David de Gea here and there, did not really do any sort of damage.
The win puts United means that United now have 24 points from 12 games and are currently placed at 4th spot in the points table.
Here are some of the Twitter reactions of the fans:
Without internet for the last couple of hours! Amazing goal by Lingard. Thought Rooney and Basti were amazing. Complete control. #United
