What Can This £15million Rated Starlet Bring To Manchester United?

David Moyes has been trusted with one of the most difficult jobs in the world – to succeed Sir Alex Ferguson. It would be an interesting prospect to watch how the new manager continues the legacy left by Sir Alex and how the club copes with the transition.

There has not been any activity from the club so far, but we will have a look at January signing Wilfried Zaha who have ended his Crystal palace career on a high helping them to secure promotion. The 20-year missed out on England’s U-21 match against Israel yesterday after suffering an injury set back, but it is expected that Zaha will return to the first team as the competition progresses.

Moyes will truly feel blessed to acquire such a talent in his very first season at the club as the man is also known for his abilities to groom youngsters. Zaha has been hailed as one the most breathtaking youngsters in the country at the moment and the current European Championships may go a long way in determining his potential.

So what can Zaha give to United next season? or rather what can Moyes do with Zaha?

Zaha is a versatile player, capable of operating in a wide variety of roles which gives Moyes an option to use him in the left side of the wings in place of Young, who has had a terrible season. Young could be pushed to the benches more often or United Could even look to hear bids for him from other teams. Zaha is most comfortable playing in the left flanks and has a natural tendency to cut in and shoot with his right foot.

However, at Palace, Zaha has often operated from the right wings, especially when things have not gone his way. He is tremendous crosser of the ball and again it would not be much difficult for him to replace Valencia, who is supposedly nearing the end of his United career.

At other times Zaha can be employed as the second striker behind Van Persie, a role that he plays in the England under-21 team although Shinji Kagawa would be the frontrunner for this position, should Rooney head out of United.

With his blistering pace and overall presence on the field, Zaha would be a nice player to have on the bench to come on at the latter stages of the match and make an impact against some tired legs.

All in all, the acquisition of Zaha is definitely a boost for the United side and it would be interesting to see how the youngster gets acclimatised to the Premier League.

But first things first, Moyes will have to go through the summer window successfully before even thinking of next season and clearing out some of the mediocre players may just state an intent from the club that has sky high ambitions. The likes of Nani, Anderson and Valencia are wanted out by the fans and so far there has not been any news about the trio.
