80.4% pass success – Liverpool must go all out to beat Bayern to sign this 22-year-old genius

Jurgen Klopp should definitely make the move for Benjamin Pavard

Liverpool have started their season in inspirational form after picking up 4 wins from 4 in the opening gameweeks. Jurgen Klopp’s men have shown they are resilient enough to grind out tough wins and that’s exactly what the Reds lacked last season.

With the international break now taking place, a number of players have departed to represent their respective nations. In the meantime, Mirror has linked Liverpool with French World Cup winner Benjamin Pavard.

The VfB Stuttgart right-back has been in exceptional form over the last year. Pavard played a crucial role for the French national team in their successful World Cup journey. But the Mirror also reports that Pavard is a top priority for German Champions Bayern Munich.

However, a move to Liverpool would make more sense for the 22-year-old. Under Jurgen Klopp, he will receive the right kind of mentorship to flourish as a full-back. A tenacious and hard-working defender, Pavard is known for his ability to read the play. He’s excellent when it comes to winning the ball and intercepting passes in key positions.

Pavard also picked up the goal of the World Cup after curving one in from outside the box against Argentina. The adventurous right-back loves to maraud forward to support the attack. This is why he would be perfect for Liverpool. Klopp expects a lot of work rate and diligence from his full-backs and that’s exactly why Pavard suits the role.

He is also aerially dominant, winning an average of 2.5 aerial duels so far this season. Pavard is a smart player on the ball and rarely plays a bad pass. He boasts a pass success rate of 80.4% in the league so far.

Though Liverpool currently have a blossoming Trent Alexander-Arnold plying his trade at right-back, Jurgen Klopp could use further depth in that position. Nathaniel Clyne, once one of the most consistent players in the squad, seems to have lost his edge now after a series of injuries.

The arrival of Pavard would prove Klopp with cover and a young, experienced option at right-back. With Liverpool set to compete on all four fronts this season, Jurgen Klopp would need all hands on the deck. Though Bayern Munich are also in the race for his signature, Klopp must make the move before the German champions do.
