Fulham should definitely tie up Ryan Sessegnon with a new contract

Fulham have looked impressive in the opening stages of the Premier League this season. The Cottagers have so far picked up 4 points from their opening 5 games of the season. Slavisa Jokanovic’s men look fluid and cohesive going forward but have shown fragility in defence.

The club will be aiming to establish themselves in the Premier League this season. The manager did bring in a lot of high-profile signings to bolster the squad but the club have to ensure they hold onto their best players as well.

According to the Evening Standard, Fulham are keen to tie up youngster Ryan Sessegnon to a new contract after his impressive performances for the club guided them into the Premier League.

The 18-year-old has proven to be one of the most promising young talents in the country. Sessegnon played an important role for Fulham last season as they made their way back to England’s top-tier. Technically brilliant and very fast on the ball, Sessegnon is an energetic and lively footballer.

The youngster is often deployed as a left midfielder but predominantly played as a left-back for the Cottagers last season. Sessegnon started the first two games of this season but was used as a substitute in the following two matches. He started against Man City and he has picked up 1 assist this season so far.

The 18-year-old is also a neat passer of the ball. He has so far averaged a pass success rate of 80.3%. Though he may not be the final product and there are areas in his game that need to be addressed, the youngster will no doubt play a massive role in England’s future. (Stats Courtesy – Whoscored)
