With yet another match-winning performance at Anfield past weekend, Liverpool’s little magician, Philippe Coutinho, is fast becoming one of the best players in the League. With 5 goals and 5 assists in 11 games in Premier League so far, he is one of the most effective players for Liverpool this season and picked up his third consecutive man of the match award for the game against Watford at the weekend. There are very few players in the League who can match the 24-year old in his current form and this will see the attacker turn into one of the best playmakers in the league. But is he the best? Here are three reasons why he might actually be the best playmaker in the Premier League at the moment:

His consistency:

Coutinho is beyond doubt one of the most skillful players not just in England but also in Europe. However, he has failed to provide Liverpool with moments of brilliance on a regular basis at the start of his career at the club. He has slowly grown into his place in the squad and has adjusted to the needs of the League and is now bearing the fruits of what he has gathered so far in his time in the country. He is now finding some consistency in his game and is constantly contributing in the final third making him an impact player. He has 4 man of the match awards so far this season, more than any other player in the top flight and he is showing that he is now learning to be consistent and growing on to become the best in the league.

Goal scoring prowess:

Though packed with skill and trickery, Coutinho was often criticized for the lack of goals for his side. He is not a genuine goal scorer who can provide a goal every game but is a playmaker who can keep the opponents honest throughout the game. Though he has his off days, he will surely create a few chances but he has added goals to his game this season and his returns make him one of the best players in the league. He has his direct contribution in eight goals in his last 7 Premier League appearances and has been superb under Jurgen Klopp. He almost scored even in the dull draw against Manchester United and maybe not the bestest, but he is close to the best in the league.

Klopp:

Though there is a lot of hard work put in by the players, there is no denying the effect that the manager has had this season. He has made every player believe in his ability and is getting the best out of each player every week. His system allows Coutinho to take dangerous positions making him more effective than he already is and this has turned him into the genuine goal scoring attacker who can rip teams apart. The movement and understanding between the front three for Liverpool has helped each of them improve as a player and if Coutinho can continue to stick with the same gameplan, he will surely grow on to become the best in the league.
