8 goals And 3.6 (avg) Shots Per Game: Why This Speed Merchant Is Turning Out To Be A Proper Goal Threat That Arsenal Fans Dreamt Of

Arsenal fans can’t be more satisfied with their side’s performances so far this season, as Arsene Wenger seems more capable than ever to bring a title to the Emirates with the outstanding level that the gunners have been showing since the start of the season.

After a very quiet transfer window where they had only brought Granit Xhaka as a big signing and a disappointing start of the season with a defeat at home against Klopp’s Liverpool, Wenger reinforced his defense with Shkodran Mustafi and added some depth in the offensive end with the Spanish winger Lucas Perez.

Wenger made some key adjustments and with some of his main players in contract years and the level shown by the Arsenal team after that defeat has been completely outstanding and they demolished the opposite teams as they did in their golden years with Robert Pires and Thierry Henry when they won an undefeated title.

The three main men responsible for Arsenal’s recent success on the pitch are Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott, as they have developed a crazy chemistry between themselves and tearing apart opposing defenses at will.

Today, we’ll discuss the performance of the last of them, as the British forward has been the biggest story for the gunners so far this season after his injury plagued career for the London side.

Theo Walcott has already netted 8 goals to go along with 2 assists in this campaign in just eleven appearances for this club, shooting  3.6 times per game while completing 81.7% of his passes, becoming a complete threat on the offensive end as we all expected he’d be when he arrived from the Southampton academy several years ago.

Let’s not forget that Walcott is only 27 years old despite what most people think, so he’s just getting started and entering the prime of his career, so he has a lot of time ahead of him to prove himself after so many people turned their backs on him due to his injury proneness and lack of playing time and goals in the past few seasons.

The British is making Olivier Giroud more and more expendable as we speak, as the Frenchman is yet to make his season debut after suffering a couple of nagging pains that have kept him on the sidelines for a couple of months now.

It is now well known that the Gunner’s fan base isn’t exactly thrilled with Giroud and even if he’s a pretty decent player overall, there are a lot of doubts regarding he’s the right guy for the starting striker job at a team like Arsenal, and Walcott is giving the Gunners exactly what they’ve been missing for a couple of years now since Robin Van Persie left London.

Walcott has completely thrived with Ozil and Alexis by his side, and the three together are practically unstoppable, as the German has one of the most precise feet to set the pair of pace.

If Arsenal’s going to make a title run, they’re going to need Theo at his best, so it’s really important to watch his minutes and try to play it safe with him. Let’s hope he doesn’t get hurt and finally lives up to the longtime expectations we all had about him.
