8 Goals And 7 Assists: Is This £12m Rated Star A Right Man For Liverpool?

The Liverpool faithful surely are reaping the benefits of bringing Jurgen Klopp to the side. The German has now taken the English club to two finals, this time in the Europa League as the side beat Villarreal 3-1 on aggregate to make it to Basel.

Klopp seems to be planning for next season and also has a few players coming in thanks to his dealings in the winter transfer window. One player who has been linked with a move to Anfield is the 23-year-old Hoffenheim striker, Kevin Volland.

The German international was one of the bright spots for the club in recent years, but this season has been a struggle not only for him, but also for the club as a whole, though they seem to have confirmed their stay in the Bundesliga for another season, it could be time for the striker to make a beeline to England.

Reports suggest that the 12 million pound rated star is a transfer target for the Reds and Jurgen Klopp has already spoken about the quality of the striker with his former teammate Roberto Firmino. The duo of Firmino and Volland led to some great performances from the German club and it could be time for them to reunite under another German as Klopp looks to revive the league campaign next season for the Merseyside club.

Volland is a versatile player and can be played out wide or as a striker, he can play in midfield as well and has a tendency to run at defenders and make life difficult for them. This season he has managed to score eight goals and provide seven assists this season in the Bundesliga, but he has managed double figures in terms of goals every season for Hoffenheim.

Volland is extremely quick with his feet as well and has the pace to thrive in the Premier League. Jurgen Klopp wants to sign players who will fit into his high-pressing policy and the German youngster is the perfect man for those wide problems that Liverpool have faced in recent years.

The Hoffenheim striker can even help out in attack and play as the main striker running off the shoulder of the defenders, giving Daniel Sturridge great company or even giving him the competition that he sorely needs. He isn’t the most physical player out there but he is built to make life tough for defences and this is something which Klopp can employ really well at the side.

Quick, nimble and with a fierce shot in him, Volland could very well turn out to be a peach of a signing if the Merseyside club can get him on the cheap. He is still growing and learning about his play and under Jurgen Klopp he could become one of the best players in the Liverpool side.

Having a team of Firmino, Coutinho, Lallana, Sturridge and Volland would certainly make the Liverpool side one of the most mobile and quick sides in the Premier League, certainly giving the club something to look forward to next season.
