Everton opinion: Should the Toffees sign Cengiz Under?
According to a report from Football Italia, Everton have had a bid for AS Roma’s Turkish winger Cengiz Under rejected in recent days. The report reveals that that Toffees’ €28million was deemed inadequate by the Italian outfit but that shouldn’t hinder Everton from going back in for the 21-year-old.
Everton finished the campaign in a strong way but their early season mistakes cost them a spot in the qualifying rounds of the Europa League next season.
Marco Silva took his time to get his ideas across but now that the dust has settled, Everton look a really strong team. However, the Toffees need to go strong in the transfer market this summer to address the several issues in their squad.
A striker has been needed for quite some time now but Silva’s decision to play Richarlison up front has worked wonders.
The Brazilian has had an outstanding debut season at Goodison Park and with more chances up front, he will give Everton a healthy return. Pushing Richarlison up front creates a void on the wing for the Toffees.
Bernard has had an incredible second half of the season and he deserves to keep his spot on the left flank. However, the right wing is a serious concern for the Toffees with Theo Walcott being a huge liability for most parts of the season.
The former Arsenal man ended the season well with goals against Manchester United and Tottenham but he had a disappointing campaign on the whole.
Everton cannot depend on Walcott if they want to have any chance of making it into the Europa League places next season but Cengiz Under would give them a major boost in their pursuit for European football.
The Turkish international has been one of the most sought out youngsters in world football after having an impressive couple of seasons with AS Roma in the Serie A.
Under has scored 6 goals and has provided a stunning 11 assists this season but there is still a lot more to come from the young Turk.
Under possesses blistering pace and incredible dribbling skills. His tricks and flicks to get away from the defender allow him an easy route towards goal and if he is ever allowed onto his favoured left foot, he has the ability cause all sorts of problems to the opposition.

Signing Cengiz Under would be a massive statement of intent from Everton and it would be an incredible way to announce themselves as favourites for the seventh spot in the league next season.
A front three of Bernard, Richarlison and Under playing in front of Gylfi Sigurdsson has the potential to strike fear into any defence in the world and Everton should go back in with a better bid to seal the deal.
