New Everton manager Marco Silva has confirmed that he requires 22 outfield players and three goalkeepers to work with, upon the beginning of new season. The Portuguese is probably eager to revamp the current squad in order to perform better next season.
The signing of Richarlison for a whopping price of £50m indicates the fact that he means business to buy players he likes, regardless of the price involved in the deal.
Silva would probably do with new players in all the three departments to build a team worth challenging for Europa League places next season. Everton have targeted certain players in this transfer window and if the Toffees get even two or three of them, they can become a very good team.
Everton have kept close tabs on the French left-back and are in contact with Barcelona to get him. With Leighton Baines getting no younger at the age of 33, Silva needs a new left-back to bolster that department. Digne will be eager to perform well after not getting enough chances to showcase his talent at the Camp Nou.
Toffees remain interested in the player who flourished at Watford last season under Marco Silva. Everton need a midfielder like him, who can dominate the ball and also be a viable physical option in both boxes to either defend or attack crosses.
The likes of Ashley Williams and Phil Jagielka have had their times but Everton need a refreshment in central defence. They are in with a shout to sign Croatian international Domagoj Vida from Besiktas. If the Toffees get him, it will be a massive boost to their squad in overall terms.
Zaha has refused to sign a new contract at Crystal Palace and this might be the right time for Everton to get him.
The 25-year-old is a gem, with his pace, dribbling skills and lethal finishing in front of goal. Zaha and Richarlison on both wings would be a dream combination for Marco Silva to work with.
