5 Goals From Midfield: Should Manchester United Go For This Quick And Versatile Brazilian?

Manchester United have struggled in attack all season, we saw that over the past few weeks and their inability to score goals has not only hurt their league standing but they also got knocked out of the UEFA Champions League due to their lack of goals.

United though haven’t had a spark in attack either, the expectations from Depay and Mata hasn’t come to fruition and that has led to some deep thinking of the think-tank at the club. Louis van Gaal might have spent huge, but that hasn’t helped United get any better in the final third of the pitch.

Rooney, Mata, Martial, Depay and even Herrera haven’t done the job in the attack and it could well be time for Manchester United to spend in the transfer window again if they want to get back into the top four.

A Brazilian to show his skills at Old Trafford?

At the start of the season Manchester United seemed to have clinched a deal to bring in Neymar from Barcelona, while that didn’t actually take place due to a number of reasons, Neymar must now be thanking his stars that he isn’t being made one of the scapegoats for United’s poor form.

Felipe Anderson

United though are looking at the services of another Brazilian who has been lighting up the Serie A with a bunch of great performances for Lazio. Felipe Anderson is an attacking midfielder who has an eye for goal and the 22-year-old already has five goals to his name this season, which is as many as Juan Mata has scored for United this term.

Anderson is quick and versatile, he has great dribbling ability and is known for his hard work in tracking back and defending as well, smoothing that Louis van Gaal would certainly love to deploy in his team.

Anderson can play in a range of positions such as the winger, forward or an attacking midfielder while he does possess a thunderbolt of a foot and is deadly in set-pieces as well, almost a perfect player who just needs to become more consistent when he is on the pitch.

Why Anderson?

The 22-year-old has been tracked by many Premier League clubs from last season and with the money available for most of the clubs in England, Anderson would be a great option for any.

Manchester United do not really have any proper attacking midfielder who has had an amazing season thus far. Almost every player is struggling in attack and maybe a bit of a spent on someone who does not have a lot of baggage playing on him could well transform the season for United, or at least provide a spark that Louis van Gaal’s side has missed for a while.
