5 Goals, 18 Assists – Stats Show That This Arsenal Superstar Is Miles Ahead Of His Tottenham Counterpart

Not surprisingly but, Arsenal has slipped again in their hunt for the premier league. The team had a great opportunity this year to grab the titles as all the other favourite contenders lost their footing in their adventure for the title. The team had a great start but as always played some rough games in the second half of the season and the title has gone far from their hands. There are still 7 games left for the Gunners to chase the leaders but it seems an impossible task as Leicester City have become a powerhouse in the league and are looking unbeatable at this very moment.

One Arsenal player has been exquisite in this entire season and is leading the charts of top assists. The Turkish-German, Mesut Ozil. The man seems unstoppable this season as he is on the verge to break the record of Thierry Henry for most assists in the premier league (20). The player is incredibly creative and has become the 13th player in the premier league to create more than 100 chances in the premier league. This player has beaten the premier league legends like Steven Gerrard and Ryan Giggs in terms of creating the number of chances in a single season. If he remains fit then surely he can beat the record of Frank Lampard who created 134 chances for his team in 2008-09 season. The playmaker has a great vision and is a good/accurate crosser of the ball and can pass the ball to a long range which allows him to create chances for the team.

On the other side, we have the young teenage sensation Dele Alli whose season has gone far wide than he would have expected. Aged 19, he is fearless and is always ready to take the challenge to the next level. He is a good passer of the ball and also a good tackler who know how to get the ball back. Just a year ago, no one knew him but after his thrilling performances, he got his first national team call up for the Euro 2016 qualifiers. He has transformed himself into a work machine who has great stamina and is always ready to take on the challenge. The player has become an integral part of Pochettino’s side and is a regular starter at this very young.

Both the players have a huge difference between their ages but Alli is giving a tough fight to this German. Here we will be comparing both the players according to their stats and will try to give you a winner.

Ozil vs Alli-

Mesut Ozil has appeared 29 times for his club and on the other hand, Alli has 30 appearances to his name in the premier league. In his number of appearances, Ozil has been able to net 5 goals this season and Alli has netted 7 goals. Both the players play as an attacking midfielder for their team and are very significant in terms of getting the goals for their team.

Mesut Ozil has a shooting accuracy of 65% in which he has managed to shoot 15 shots on target and 8 have been off target. The young Englishman has the shooting accuracy of 61% and has managed to shoot 25 shots on target and 16 off target. That’s a great start for the young playmaker don’t you think? 24 out of his every shot were somehow blocked otherwise, he could have a great tally to show for.

Both, Mesut Ozil and Dele Alli share the same number when it comes to winning the man of the match award. Both have been named the man of the match thrice. But looking at the best rating per game, Mesut Ozil has been named as the top man in the team for 6 times and Alli has been named the same for 4 times in this seasons’ Premier League.

When we talk about creating chances, all of us know who will be the winner in this attribute. Dele Alli has managed to assist 9 times in this season and has created 44 chances for his team. The German has a humongous numbers under his belt as he has created 119 chances for his team this season and have managed to assist 18 times and is very close to break the record of Thierry Henry. He also has played 101 key passes to his teammates. What about that?

When we talk about the passing accuracy, the German easily overpowers this young lad as the German has an average passing accuracy of 87% and have completed 1554 passes this season in the league whereas Alli has a passing accuracy of 75% and has completed just 779 passes this season.

In terms of defending, Ozil Averages 49% success in his duels and Alli averages 43%. But talking about the defensive actions in the game, Alli averages at least 3 defensive actions per game including blocks, interceptions and clearance and Ozil averages just 1. Both share the same number when we talk about the average of their passing length i.e 15m in which Ozil has completed 39 long balls and Alli has 38.

As I have said this before, both the players are very important for their respective teams. Alli is just 19 and has his entire career in front of him and if he continuous the same form he will be a top quality midfielder one day and will set an example then. But, right now Ozil is our clear winner but Alli has given a tough fight to this German in some attributes.
