Gameweek 5 came in with a few real surprises. Norwich had their big win over Manchester City which was great news for the many FPL managers who had Teemu Pukki in their side.
Tammy Abraham’s many new owners were rewarded with a hat-trick against an uncharacteristic Wolves side.
Other highly-owned players like Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne didn’t quite make the same waves and we’ll now have a look at some of FPL assets who are going under the radar
1.Emiliano Buendia – Norwich City ( 6.0m )
The 22-year-old Argentine is the Canaries’ primary playmaker and has already set up 4 goals so far. He’s on corners and his numbers are likely to continue soaring. He is owned only by 1.0% and in a side like Norwich that always creates a lot of chances, he’s a fantastic differential.
2. Roberto Firmino – Liverpool ( 9.5m )
The Brazilian was at his best against Newcastle, setting up two great goals and with the Liverpool defence not looking like keeping as many clean sheets, it’s probably going to be fine if you take that spot for the false 9.
Liverpool have some difficult fixtures on the horizon and Firmino’s always been a fixture proof player. He’s only owned by 12.4%.
3. Callum Wilson – Bournemouth ( 8.0m )
The England international has continued his fine form from previous seasons by having a return in every game so far this season. He has racked up 3 assists and 3 goals so far with favourable fixtures on the horizon. He only has an ownership of 9.4%
4. Joshua King – Bournemouth ( 6.3m )
Wilson’s partner in crime, King is also a cut-price option and is the perfect 3rd striker as he can come off the bench or be a starter and will provide consistent returns throughout the season.
He got two assists in the last game and is the designated penalty taker. He has an ownership of 9.4%
5. Ashley Barnes – Burnley ( 6.7m )
Teemu Pukki’s brilliance has cast the Burnley man aside but with only an ownership of 10.4%, the dogged forward is a fantastic option and has been one of the top goalscorers in England for the calendar year and it doesn’t look like he’s going to stop anytime soon.
