Manchester United produced a gritty performance to stop the most exciting attack in the league at Anfield at the weekend. Jose Mourinho felt that the point was well earned and will now turn his head towards the Europe League fixture against the Turkish champions Fenerbahce this Thursday. The Red Devils are with one win and one loss in the European competition and will need a victory to stay in the qualification spots. But they are against a strong team in Fenerbahce who have made a decent start to their league campaign. However, with a trip back to the Bridge waiting at the weekend, he might field some of his second squad players for this game.

Here is the lineup that Mourinho might field for this game in the Europa League.

Team News:

The club revealed today that star French duo Anthony Martial and Morgan Schneiderlin both picked up injuries in training and are expected to miss this Europa League clash. Phil Jones remains the only other long-term concern for Mourinho ahead of this game with the likes of Luke Shaw and Henrikh Mkhitaryan both back in training.

Sergio Romero:

After an impressive performance at Anfield, David de Gea deserves to sit out of this game which will give Sergio Romero a chance to prove himself against Fenerbahce.

Timothy Fosu-Mensah:

A decent performance in the last Europa League fixture against Zorya will give Fosu-Mensah another outing in the right back spot for United this week.

Eric Bailly:

Stuck to his task well against Liverpool and should get another outing in the Europa League this week against Fenerbahce.

Chris Smalling:

A consistent performer for Manchester United at the back, Chris Smalling, is expected to keep his place in the side for this game in the Europa League.

Luke Shaw:

Though not deemed fit to play at Anfield, Shaw is back in training and should be eased into the team with this game providing a perfect opportunity for Jose Mourinho.

Ander Herrera:

The Spaniard was immense in the game against Liverpool and should keep his place in the midfield for the side for this game.

Paul Pogba:

The Frenchman was not at his best at Anfield but he was influential in the last few games for the Red Devils and should start this game in the midfield.

Jesse Lingard:

After sitting out the Liverpool clash, Lingard will be fresh and raring to go for a game and should start the Europa League clash on Tuesday.

Juan Mata:

The Spaniard also missed the game against Liverpool and will be brought back into the starting XI for this game against Fenerbahce.

Marcus Rashford:

Could not last the whole game at Anfield but should recover in time to start this game on Thursday. He could play an important role for United if they are to take all three points from this game.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic:

The scorer of the winner in the previous game for United, Zlatan should start this game to try and give his side an early lead before being saved for the Chelsea game at the weekend.
