41 tackles – Everton could strike gold by making a move for this robust 20-year-old Premier League wall

Everton should definitely make the move for Aaron Wan-Bissaka

According to the Sun, Everton are interested in making a move for Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The 20-year-old right-back has been making a name for himself in the Premier League this season after progressing through the ranks in Palace’s youth academy.

Wan-Bissaka has arguably been a standout performer for Roy Hodgson’s men this season and the Eagles will definitely be reluctant to part ways with their graduate but Marco Silva must make a move for him.

The Toffees’ right-back Seamus Coleman has just crossed 30 and his last few seasons have been slightly jaded with injuries. Surely, Everton will need an able replacement and Wan-Bissaka certainly fits the bill.

The 20-year-old has been defensively solid for the Eagles this season. Though Palace are struggling to score the goals, they look much tighter in defence this season. The Eagles have conceded a total of 13 goals in their 10 games and Wan-Bissaka has played a huge part in that.

The defender has made a total of 41 tackles, boasting a tackle success rate of 73%. He is a hard player to beat and defends diligently as well. He has also made 49 recoveries of the ball and won 85 personal duels as well. (Stats courtesy – Premier League)

He has shown excellent work rate, marauding up and down the field. The 20-year-old has picked up 1 assist this season and has flourished playing in Hodgson’s 4-4-2 formation that allows him to charge forward at will.

That is why Wan-Bissaka will surely thrive under Marco Silva at Everton. The Toffees’ manager requires intense work rate from his full-backs but the youngster should be able to meet his demands both defensively and offensively. The 20-year-old has shown potential and will definitely prosper in Silva’s offensive 4-2-3-1 formation.

This will allow him space and time to make his runs down the flank as Everton’s pacy attackers drag the defenders out of their position. Wan-Bissaka has created 2 big chances this season as well, one of which resulted in an assist. (Stats courtesy – Premier League)
