Why This £40m Rated German Midfielder Will Be A Good Addition To Manchester United

Manchester United would be licking their wounds after losing out to Renato Sanches of Benfica. The youngster signed for Bayern Munich and the Premier League club now set their sights on the next big thing in German football, Leroy Sane.

United are often linked with big money moves for some of the best players in the world, Angel DI Maria and Memphis Depay come to mind in recent years, but the Schalke attacker is considered to be the best prospect to come out of Germany for many years.

Sane is only 20-year-old, but has been the best Schalke player this season by miles. The attacker can play in a range of positions starting from the wing to the central striker. The German has scored nine goals in all competitions for the Bundesliga club and also has seven assists to his name. It is reported that Sane would be a 40 million pound signing for United or even Manchester City, money which would be well-spent in signing someone this young and talented.

A big player for the big occasions?

The only problem with the signing of someone this young is how he would deal with the pressure of playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world. Louis van Gaal is known to throw his players into the deep end and sending someone who has never played outside of Germany would be an issue. Sane though has dealt with the pressure of starring for a team that lost its best player at the start of the season.

The loss of Julian Draxler to Wolfsburg did affect Schalke, but they did recover and finished fifth in the league standings, not bad for a club that seemed to be losing direction after the sale of Draxler. Sane is an extremely versatile player, but Louis van Gaal is the issue at the forefront of his move to the club.

The Dutch manager has given many chances to young players but during his time at United, many stars have faded away as well. Angel di Maria remains the biggest and most expensive flop in the history of Manchester United and even the likes of Juan Mata, Memphis Depay and Bastian Schweinsteiger aren’t doing all that well under the tactical nous that Van Gaal has tried to show in his two years at the club.

Van Gaal is adamant that he will remain at the club next season as well, which means Sane would have to deal with all the tantrums the manager throws. Sane is a player who loves to dribble and set up chances for his teammates and that would work wonders for Manchester United. He isn’t the strongest in the world, but his quick feet should get him out of trouble more often than not in the Premier League.

Sane could slot right behind the striker or go out on the wing as he prefers to cut inside and a front trio of Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and Leroy Sane does look tasty but with Rooney not being at his best, a trio of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Leroy Sane would be set for the future.
