Predicted Hull City Line-up To Face Barnsley In The EFL Championship
This game is a bit of a conundrum with both sides capable of producing a surprise result, both good and bad. The Tigers have been in good form of late though, hammering Birmingham 6-1 at home before recording a good 1-1 draw against a resurgent Norwich City.
They travel to Barnsley for a game which should be played in quite a hot atmosphere, with the Hull players needing to handle the occasion well. A draw is a minimum requirement here for Leonid Slutsky’s troops and they might be able to achieve it with a XI sent out in the following 4-2-3-1 shape:
Formation: 4-2-3-1
Manager: Leonid Slutsky
GK – Allan McGregor
The former Rangers stopper remains one of the better ‘keepers in this division and whatever happens to Hull this season, he retains plenty of value.
RB – Temitayo Aina
The 21-year-old Chelsea student needs game time and experience but is in the right place to get it, in what is a difficult league to manage.
CB – Michael Dawson
The Hull stalwart is a must on the team sheet and should once again line up at the back.
CB – Michael Hector
The two Michaels can form a formidable central defensive partnership here which Barnsley may struggle to break through.
LB – Max Clark
It’s always good to see a local boy in a team as it’s what football should be all about, even in the pro ranks. Clark is just 21 but has a bright future here.
CM – Kevin Stewart
May be asked to deputise for Meyler this time and is looking to show what he can do, having arrived in the summer.
CM – Seb Larsson
Warrants his place in the team based on set-piece ability alone.
RW – Jarrod Bowen
A real shining light in this team, in the fast moving English game, he will almost certainly be the subject of big bids from the Championship and Premier League as early as this January.
CAM – Markus Henriksen
The Norwegian hasn’t fully established himself as yet in this country but it may only be a matter of time.
LW – Kamil Grosicki
The Polish winger could yet be another player to attract interest from Championship and Premier League clubs’ and should start this game on the left wing.
ST – Nouha Dicko
The ex-Wolves man managed to get on the score sheet last time out and is looking to follow up here. Should be able to do so.
