Why Chelsea should go for Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey in January
According to the Express, Aaron Ramsey has not yet received a new contract offer from Arsenal and there’s every chance the Welshman could leave the club for free in the summer. A number of clubs have shown a keen interest in him, with the Gunners rejecting a £50million bid last summer.
Ramsey has so far featured regularly under Unai Emery this season and has impressed in most of his appearances. The Welshman has been at the Emirates for 10 years now. He is currently one of the longest serving players in the squad.
Chelsea are one of the clubs said to be interested in his services and it would be a good move for Maurizio Sarri to make. Arsenal might be forced to either sell him early or face the risk of losing him for free in the summer. (Express)
This is a good time for the Blues to come in and capitalise on the situation. Sarri could really use a midfielder like Ramsey in his squad. The Welshman is one of most talented central midfielders across Europe.
He is technically brilliant and is capable of flourishing in a number of different systems. Ramsey has made a total of 240 appearances in the Premier League, scoring 36 goals and providing 42 assists. (Stats courtesy – Premier League)
The 27-year-old is one of the most experienced players in the Premier League. He possesses all the qualities to flourish in Sarri’s high octane system, having endured an even tougher regime under previous Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger.
Ramsey is often deployed as a central midfielder but he is also capable of playing as a central attacking midfielder. Ramsey is technically brilliant and his ability on the ball is immaculate. He is capable of surging forward from deep areas and supporting the attack on the counter.
The midfielder is exceptional when it comes to quick passing link-up plays with his teammates. His creative ability and nous will also see Chelsea’s attackers receive a number of chances in the final third. The midfielder has already picked up 2 assists in 6 appearances this season and has looked good under Unai Emery so far. (Stats courtesy – Whoscored)

Maurizio Sarri should definitely take advantage and go for him in January. Ramsey will definitely raise the standards at Chelsea as the Blues aim to return to the top four this season.
He will surely pay dividends for them in the long-term, given that he is also a proven Premier League performer. Chelsea have already snapped up Olivier Giroud from the Gunners and Ramsey should be the next in line.
