£34 million Chelsea And Liverpool Target Clears The Air On His Future

Javier Hernandez

Recent reports claimed that Liverpool and Chelsea were keen on signing Bayer Leverkusen striker, but Hernandez has played down those rumors and stated he is currently happy playing for the Bundesliga side.

The former Manchester United forward had been linked with a move away from the Bundesliga outfit, with the two Premier League heavyweights reportedly keen on his signature. Hernandez, who has scored five times in 15 games this campaign, despite not able to achieve what he did last term, scoring 17 times for Leverkusen has played down the speculations of a transfer.

Commonly known as Chicharito, the attacker stated,

“Why would I like to stay in the Bundesliga? Because I feel good and I’m happy. I’ve learned a lot in the Bundesliga, as a player and as a man.”

Chelsea and Liverpool are both not in the Champions League currently, and that could be one reason as to why Hernandez wants to stay in Germany.

“I like playing in the Champions League, and luckily Bayer have been involved in the last few years. We hope we can achieve that goal again in the second half of the season.” added Hernandez.

The Blues are reportedly eying a £34 million deal for the Mexico international, who United sold for just £7million 18 months ago. And Bayer may intend to cash in on the striker if he is unable to contribute highly for the team.
