31 Goals In Just 38 Appearances: Why Chelsea Would Be A Great Fit For This Ligue 1 Goal Machine

The hottest striker in the French league might be on his way out of Lyon, Alexandre Lacazette has been on fire for the team as he has catapulted them up to 2nd in the league standings. He has scored 31 goals in just 38 appearances for the team and is looking to take them back to the UEFA Champions League, everyone remembers just how good Lyon used to be in the Champions League a decade ago.

Chelsea, just like other clubs are in the running to sign the gifted striker with reports circulating that they have a player + cash deal lined up for the French goal machine in the summer. Chelsea have been in the need of getting a striker into their team especially since Didier Drogba will be leaving at the end of the season and Loic Remy hasn’t been that great for them, although he hasn’t had that many opportunities to impress, Lacazette could be a very shrewd signing for Mourinho and co.

The Ligue 1 striker of the season, easily

The ability of Lacazette cannot be questioned, he has great movement and pace and is a good finisher as well. He is almost the perfect striker at the moment and has shown thanks to his goal scoring record just what teams want to sign him up.

Lacazette isn’t just known for his goal scoring, his link up play with the other Lyon forward Nabil Fekir has been brilliant this season as well. He would be a brilliant option to have for Chelsea since he can link up with the likes of Chelsea’s wingers, Hazard and Willian. He even can play in other attackers, so his link up play wouldn’t just be restricted to the wingers, but with Oscar as well.

Lacazette is known to often drop back and start attacks from the midfield as his linking with other players goes a little deep, he even is great at set pieces and has scored quite a few free kicks for Lyon this season, which provides Chelsea with another option and make them dangerous every time they get a penalty or a free kick, Hazard would be having some competition then.

Lacazette is only 23-years-old and still has time to grow and develop, he has the ability to become one of the top strikers in the world and apart from Arsene Wenger in England, there really is no better coach for a young player than Jose Mourinho (well only if Mourinho rates him and wants to play him). Lacazette might not be playing as many games as he would want if he moves to Stamford Bridge but he would be playing for one of the best managers in the world and that should be incentive enough for him to sign up for the Blues.
