3 Ways in which Man United could line-up with Dybala

The football world had to take a halt for a second as a report from Sky Sports emerged that Paulo Dybala of Juventus and Romelu Lukaku of Manchester United would be involved in a swap deal.

Romelu Lukaku had been linked with a move to Inter Milan under Antonio Conte all summer but this will make a massive difference to Manchester United’s aspirations for the upcoming season and have an effect on the Premier League too.

Paulo Dybala has been one of the best forward players in the world for the last couple of seasons ever since his move from Palermo to Juventus. However, Juventus’ capture of Cristiano Ronaldo saw Dybala’s influence on the side reduce massively.

Dybala’s numbers took a massive drop as he only registered 10 goals and 2 assists in all competitions. Massimiliano Allegri went from having a fluid attacking system to one that revolved around getting the best out of Ronaldo.

This affected Dybala’s game and it was compounded when he was shifted to the right wing at times in a very passive system where Juventus weren’t always on the front foot. Dybala is a very flexible player and let’s figure out the different ways in which he could line up at Manchester United if he joins them.

Dybala as false 9 in a 4-3-3

Dybala has always been a prolific goalscorer and he likes to drop into little pockets of space to be a link player. A position popularized by Lionel Messi, Paulo Dybala would work perfectly in this position as he could create chances and most importantly, score goals.

The best part of being a false 9 is that it disorganizes the defensive structure of the opposition as there’s no one to man-mark the false-9.

The number 10 position is suited to any player who likes to get a lot of touches on the ball and Paulo Dybala is very much a player who likes to get a lot of touches on the ball and find pockets of spaces to take shots and create chances.

He’d also win a lot more fouls in the central areas and would be able to feed balls and give himself some space.

With Aaron Wan-Bissaka as a right-back, any player who plays on the flank can look forward to having a lot of freedom to cut inside and continue producing the goods as mentioned above.
