3 Tricky wingers Arsenal could sign to complete their squad including Crystal Palace speedster

New Arsenal manager Unai Emery has stamped his authority at the Emirates Stadium by making key signings in areas which have massively let the club down in recent years.

Goalkeeper Bernd Leno has joined full-back Stephan Lichtsteiner in signing for Arsenal this summer, with defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos and midfielder Lucas Torreira expected to complete their moves to the north Londoners very soon.

Emery has done the right job by revamping the defensive structure at Arsenal first. Now, the Spanish manager must look to bolster his attacking options, despite the Gunners possessing an array of talented forwards.

Arsenal looked out of ideas in front of goal at times last season and to avoid it again next campaign, Emery must consider signing a tricky, goalscoring player to complete his squad.

That being said; here are three tricksters Arsenal should look to sign this summer.

Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City)

This past season, Mahrez failed to replicate the form which won him the PFA Player of the Year award in 2015/16 campaign.

Despite scoring 12 goals and providing 11 assists in the Premier League last season, the Algerian often appeared a shadow of his former self.

Riyad Mahrez

With his great skill and trickery, Mahrez could be a fantastic addition for the Gunners. He has proven quality and Premier League experience. Additionally, at 27 years of age, he has his best years ahead of him.

The Algerian is a sensational player on his day and has the kind of technical ability combined with pace and trickery that will really work wonders at Arsenal. However, Emery must act quickly if he wants to sign Mahrez as Manchester City have been heavily linked with making a move for him.

Wilfried Zaha (Crystal Palace)

Zaha, who managed to revive his career at Crystal Palace, is one of the hottest prospects in the Premier League. He was the catalyst in turning around Palace’s fortunes last season after the south London club looked set for relegation.

Zaha is a silky player, whose explosive pace and dribbling ability are enough to cause endless nightmares to defenders. The Ivorian is a fighter, who never shies away from taking on a player and is never daunted by the opposition he faces.

Playing out wide and combining with Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Zaha could thrive in north London.

If his services become available, Arsenal definitely should give a try to sign the tricky attacker.

Gelson Martins (Sporting Lisbon)

In many ways, Martins would be a massive signing for Arsenal. He’s ridiculously quick, loves toying with defenders and can score goals. The Portuguese enjoyed a brilliant season with Sporting Lisbon last term, scoring 11 goals and providing 3 assists in 47 appearances across all competitions.

Gelson Martins

Martins is incredibly versatile but thrives at right-wing, thus making him a great choice for Arsenal to inject some much-needed energy and pace to their final third.

The Portuguese is the latest player to have requested Sporting Lisbon to terminate his contract, following clashes with a group of ultras last month. As a result, Arsenal have been presented with a brilliance chance to land the 23-year-old skilful winger on a free transfer.
