3 Transfers Everton Are Expected To Complete In The Summer Including This Burnley Star

Ronald Koeman

Three Signings Everton Are Expected To Complete This Summer

Everton have had a fairly decent campaign in Ronald Koeman’s first season in charge at the Goodison Park. The Toffees are set to finish 7th in the Premier League and will be taking part in the UEFA Europa League next season.

While that does mark a good start to the Koeman era, there’s still plenty of work that needs to be done if the Merseysiders are to become a constant challenger for the top-four places in the league. The first thing that the Dutch manager will need to do is cut out the inconsistencies that have marred Everton this season. Their performances this season have ranged from excellent on occasions to hapless a few times.

Another key aspect that will decide how the Toffees fare next season is the business that they do in the transfer window. While it looks more than certain that Ross Barkley and Romelu Lukaku could be leaving in the summer owing to their refusal to ink a new deal with the club, there will be reinforcements arriving from the cash generated from their sales. Here we bring you three transfer dealings that Everton could complete in the summer.

Kasper Schmeichel From Leicester City

The goalkeeping department has been somewhat of a concern for Koeman this campaign, with both Maarten Stekelenburg and Joel Robles not impressing to a great extent.

As per reports from the Mirror, Everton have identified Leicester City custodian Kasper Schmeichel as a primary target for the next season. The 30-year old has been inspirational for the Foxes this term and was one of the major reasons why Leicester managed to go as far as the quarter-finals in their maiden UEFA Champions League campaign.

Having gotten a taste of European football, the Danish international seems keen on playing in the continental stages and is willing to engineer a move away from the King Power to do so. There are good chances that he will be calling the Goodison as his home come next season.

Gylfi Sigurdsson From Swansea City

It is no secret that Ronald Koeman is a huge admirer of the Icelandic international and has been trying to sign him since the Dutchman’s days in charge of Southampton. But with the financial backing from Everton, he may finally get his wish of signing Gylfi Sigurdsson, as per reports from Sky Sports.

One of the most underrated and under-appreciated attacking players in the league, the 27-year old has had a huge hand in helping Swansea stay up in the top division, by scoring 9 goals and 13 assists in the Premier League. He has the quality and the proven ability to improve any side that he joins and he deserves to play for a team participating in European football.

With Ross Barkley close to an exit in the summer, space opens up for a new attacking player to come in and there are hardly better players to fill the vacancy than Sigurdsson.

Andre Gray From Burnley

With Romelu Lukaku on the way out, a replacement for the big Belgian needs to come in, in the summer window and Everton have apparently identified Burnley’s Andre Gray as a replacement as per reports from The Express.

The 25-year old, who has scored 9 goals in the Premier League this season has attracted interest from Tottenham Hotspur as well. He may not have had the best of starts in the top division, he is more than capable of turning into a prolific striker as was witnessed last season in the Championship for the Clarets, as he fired them to the EFL Championship glory and promotion to the top flight.

Interest from Tottenham may complicate matters somewhat, but a guarantee of being a regular starter at the Goodison, instead of acting as a backup for Harry Kane with the North Londoners may sway it in favour of the Toffees.
